If you are wearing your Billy Shoes with an AFO or Custom Insoles we recommend the following steps to ensure the best fit and to maximise the lifespan of your shoes
If you are wearing your Billy Shoes with an AFO or Custom Insoles we recommend the following steps to ensure the best fit and to maximise the lifespan of your shoes
Fitting Instructions
- Loosen the laces all the way down the shoe and fully unzip.
- For AFOs or Custom Insoles, remove both factory insoles.
- If fitting only one AFO or Custom Insole, the factory insoles may remain in the unaffected shoe.
- Check foot length with the shoe fully open. The wearer should have at least 10mm of toe clearance at the front of the shoe.

If fitting with a hinged AFO, please use a low‑top BILLY shoe style only.
- Zip the shoe up and around the wearer, avoiding over‑tightening the laces.
- If the shoe feels tight over the top of the foot once fully zipped and laced, remove one of the factory insoles to create additional depth.
